BC2 Beta Player Experience

One of the best multiplayer games is back with a vengeance; sportin' DX11 and a brand new engine.

When you first log in it tells you on the right side your progress for the next rank. You can also select from the tabs on the top of your main screen to see your unlock progression towards individual guns.

I also found that if you go to http://veteran.battlefield.com/ and input your previous Battlefield game information (login from BF:2 and BF:2142 then CD key for BF:1942 and BF: Vietnam) it'll give you veteran status in game. I saw an unlock for the M1 Garand that can only be achieved through veteran ranking, but I'm not sure how that works. I'm going to dig out my BF:V BF:2142, and BF:42/Road to Roam/Secret Weapons of WW2 and see what it says. I already put in my BF:Heroes and BF:2 and it gave me a veteran rank of 1 in BF:BC2. I'm going to add them 1 at a time to see how many it takes to unlock that gun.

I'm not sure of the total number of levels, but on glitching ranks in game I've seen 40+ rank levels.

They're limiting your max levels in the beta through unattainable points, though. IE, for my next vehicle upgrade, assault, and rank upgrade I need 100,000,000 points. That's quite a jump from teh 20,000 points it took to hit 11.

I checked the leader boards and the #1 position had 1,800,000 points at 56 hours of play time (9+ hours a day when I checked it - 200,000 points a day - at that rate 56,000,000 points by beta end). That means no one is going to hit level 12 or any of the next level upgrades before the 25th when the beta ends.

BTW - 1 squad with 2 engineers firing anti tank missiles and 1 assault with tracer dart gun can stop any vehicle in the game.

OK, after some reasearch here's what I found out on the veteran unlocks. When adding some games it takes several tries. My BF2 went through on the first try. BF2142 took more than 10 tries:

http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/13191.page

Battlefield 2142, Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2 Expansions/Booster packs are linked by entering your Soldier name and password. Your Battlefield account must be linked to the EA Account you are logged in with.

Battlefield 2142 Northern Strike and Battlefield Heroes Beta participation are detected automatically.

Bad Company, Bad Company Demo and Modern Combat are linked by entering your Gamertag/PSN ID. This ID must be linked to your EA account (see above)

Battlefield Vietnam, Battlefield 1942 and expansions are added by entering your CD Key.

How does the Ranking system work?

Only the base Battlefield Games add to your Veteran Rank, expansions, demos and booster packs (BF2 Euro Forces, Northern Strike, Bad Company Demo etc) do not.

You need at least two games to get to Rank one. For example Bad Company + 2142 equals rank 1.

How do I get my Bad Company unlock?

Once you have reached a veteran rank of one or higher the Assault rifle unlock will automatically be available in game.

From Steam forums on how to get the M1 Garrand unlock. Need a veteran rank of 3, but isn't available in the Beta.:

I believe it's 3, I'm at 5. It'll be available on March 2nd

Yeah, Gino, Susan, and I got on Vent last night. We were playing some Hypernia servers which are always pretty fun. It was the first time I'd seen the freinds list show someone online. Before it would show them offline, but when I selected to join the server they were in it would still connect me. Looks like they're cutting back on the bugs now.
